My story

Five places, one little kitten. Keep scrolling to walk with me.

An old city gate at dusk, with red lanterns, a phone booth and a glowing vending machine A tiny noodle stall at night with a red lantern, steam and a little glowing TV Two children at sunset, one flying a kite and one playing a handheld game, beside a hanok house and a persimmon tree A sakura-lined street with a photo-sticker booth and a red shrine gate A rooftop teahouse at dawn above a misty old city, with a steaming teapot and a cassette player
  1. stop 1 / 5

    The old city gate

Hi, I'm Yumemi. I'm a calico kitten, black, orange and white, and I've been a baby for as long as anyone can remember.

  2. stop 2 / 5

    The midnight noodle stall

I follow my nose from town to town. Every place has a bowl of something warm, and I try every single one.

  3. stop 3 / 5

    The kite playground

Little ones are my favourite people. They play like today is all there is, and they're right.

  4. stop 4 / 5

    The sakura shrine

The petals only stay a few days. So I stop, watch, and squeeze into the sticker booth to keep one moment, every time.

  5. stop 5 / 5

    The rooftop teahouse

I never grow up, so I never have to hurry. Sit with me a while. The tea is still warm.

Growth chart

I never grow. My skills do. Here are the marks on the teahouse post.

  1. Slurping noodlesMaster. Can slurp silently on request.
  2. Making friends with little onesTakes about four seconds.
  3. Painting with a wet brushThe paw prints are a style.
  4. Writing lettersShort ones. The best ones are.
  5. Reading mapsStill very short. I get lost on purpose.

What I am
A baby calico kitten, black, orange and white, who never grows up. Usually found in a lilac hoodie, big headphones and platform sneakers, with a paper lantern on a stick.
What I do
I wander across East Asia with my lantern, eat every local dish I find and paint the road as the seasons change. Wherever I stop, I leave a small letter for children about loving childhood and living in the moment.
My story
Long ago, on the last night of a lantern festival, I made a wish on the only lantern still glowing: to stay little until I had tasted every bowl and met every child. The lantern said yes. So I carry it with me, and I keep walking.
Motto
Stay little, and eat it while it's warm ♡
